Today God teaches us how to pray effectively. Please share with everyone. There is a way to pray and touch and move the heart of God. “But when Yeshua saw that she wept and those Jews who had come with her weeping, He was powerfully MOVED in His spirit and His soul was MOVED” (John 11:33) Beloved friend, God can be moved. You have the power to move Him with your words and your prayers. "God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." John 4:24 Though the scripture above talks about worship, the same goes for prayer. God is spirit, to pray to Him effectively, you are to pray in spirit and in truth. When you pray, pray from the heart and be REAL. You are praying to a REAL Jesus, so do not pretend but be real. Tell Him how you feel. Tell Him what’s on your heart. Let it be a real conversation, do not keep on babbling like pagans, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do but be genuine. Here are a few things the Lord shared with me this weekend to help revive your prayers and to make it real:
1. BE CONSCIOUS OF HIS REAL PRESENCE:
When you go on your knees to pray, God wants you to know He comes and most of the times He stands right in front of you, not many miles away, not meters away but a few inches from you. He comes because you are calling on His name. He comes because He loves you. There is never a time you genuinely reach out to Jesus and He does not come for you. Because He is right there, pray knowing that you are being watched. Pray knowing that you have company. The LORD is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth (Psalm 145:18)
2. THINK ABOUT HIM LIKE HE IS THERE:
because He truly is there, more real and closer than those who are physically praying by your sides. He is closer than anyone can be to you. Therefore, focus on Him. Think about Him. When you begin to think about Him, within a short time, the atmosphere will change, you will move closer and closer to His domain. Let the thoughts of the Lord flood your soul. Do not pray like He is not in the room. Think about him knowing that He is not a million miles away but He is right there with you.
3. MAKE IT A REAL CONVERSATION:
It is easy to pray and get into a formula, talking and talking on and on, while your mind is somewhere else. Since the Lord is there, make it a real conversation. Pray in the spirit (in tongues) while thinking about Him and engaging in a conversation with Him. Continue to pray in tongues at the same time carrying on a conversation with Him. You may ask Him, “Lord, what’s on your heart today? Lord, how do you feel today? Lord, how can I help so and so…?” as you ask Him, allow Him to speak back to you – this will require you to wait on Him. Make it a real conversation, you will be amazed at how your relationship with the Lord will grow just by conversing together.
4. PICTURE HIM IN REALITY:
Use your imagination. Imagine how He looks like as you pray. Imagine what He is wearing, His feature etc… When you do this, your soul will begin to soar towards Him… thought He is right there, in spirit we might be further from Him “this people honor me with their lips but their heart is far away from me.” So soar higher and reach new heights. Be closer to Him more than ever before.
5. FEEL HIM IN REALITY: With our eyes closed, we can tell if someone is on our right or left side as we pray… There Lord is right there, learn to feel Him. Not only is there Lord right there with you, but He touches you, he touches your forehead and blesses you. He strokes your hair at times etc... When you cry, He holds you and He does not let go off you till you decide to leave.
PS.: This will not work for those who live in sin and those who are in deception. For this to work, you must have repented of your sins. Today, the Lord has taught you how to pray. Practice it, teach and share with everyone.
God bless you
