Make Your Heart –Everyone Can Have a Molded Heart, It’s Never Late to Take Care of Your Heart.
“Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life” Proverbs 4:23
The heart of people changes. It can change for good or for worse. There will be abundant life where one diligently watches over their heart and make it using the Word of God. Do not wait for someone else to make you a better person, do not wait for someone else to mold your heart – Only you can work at it and God is always willing to help whoever is willing. People who live righteously are those people who take Jesus as their role model, are willing to change and to work at their heart. This is true wisdom because the heart is who we truly are.
The heart of people changes therefore people should not live saying, “I am like this, I have tried to change myself but I cannot change.” Nor should we lose heart and write people off our list and say, ‘this one has a hardened heart, they do not change, they are like that’. But we should pray for those with a hardened heart and we should always sow seeds of truth to guide them in the path of righteousness.
Do you like who you are and what you do? Do you like the way you treat others or not? The good news is that your heart can be molded and changed for the better. The other good news is that you are the king / boss of molding your heart. With your willingness to change, self discipline and the power of God, you have all the power there is to change who you truly are.
The Heart Is Shaped / Molded According to What You Feed It
The heart is the core of who we truly are. It is not the hand that gives but the heart that command it to give. The feet act because the heart and the brain are in agreement and command the feet to move. Even the mouth speaks from that which fills the heart. When people say mean things, when people verbally abuse and bully, they are spilling out what is in the heart. What is stored in their heart comes from what they watch, see, think and feed their inner man. To everyone, the Lord said, “Spend quality time with Me! Away with your fitful visits! Cast out all your idols – Allow Me to change you!”
Depending upon what you feed your heart then, it can change for better or for worse. Just like your body is healthy when you feed it healthy nutrients, so the heart of people is formed by what they absorb on the inside and choose to do. The environment of where people live, grow; the company around them, what they hear, watch, feed their minds and do; all contribute to who they become in character, in lifestyle etc… King David was a man after God’s own heart because he chose to love and treasure the Word of God and to obey it (Read Psalm 119). By what people listen to, watch; by the good or bad company they hang out with, it all contribute into shaping their likes and dislikes. It is in this way that even innocent children, if the parents live them to watch cartoons and TV without control, they end up being raised by them and develop their likes and dislikes. These days, it is heartbreaking to hear there are children who are 7, 10 or even 12 years old who are struggling with lust at that early age! They were recklessly exposed to evil!
Know Your Heart
God made human beings in His image. Because God is our Father, In His own image we were created; like Father like son. We do not resemble to animals or other created beings but in a natural likeness, we have features like God does, of course being born in sin and living in a fallen world, there is so much we have lost of His moral likeness.
When a baby is born, God decides how that baby is going to look like as a person. Inside each person, God creates a heart which is the core being of who we truly are. The heart God put in each person is basic and this heart changes throughout one’s life. While a person does not get to choose their physical appearance, from the basic pure heart God created human beings with, a person get to make their heart. This is why it is so important to watch the heart with all diligence.
In the beginning it is an innocent pure heart, but it get to change depending upon the surroundings, the environment, who people live with, what they watch and listen to, the decisions they make, whether to listen to the Word of God and obey it play a great role to change the heart for good. Therefore, to live is to live obeying the word of God because that is taking care of our heart. In the beginning, God created man by His word (John 1:3). Still by the Word of God we are made. This is why it is so important to read the word of God. When we obey the Word of God, our heart changes in God’s likeness.
Sharpen Your Heart
When you buy a new knife, it is sharp and if it is not, you use a sharpener to help straighten and refine the cutting edge. Thus a knife is sharpened. As you continue to use it however, the knife can become dull. It is to keep up with sharpening. As people grow up in this world which is full of sin and temptation, there are always things that influence them to change their likes and dislike. Those things contribute to the making of one’s heart.
Know Your Heart
As we said above, there is the basic heart that God put in each one of us. It is a basic heart. A baby’s heart is an innocent heart. But this heart changes throughout life’s journey.
Inside each person, there can be:
Your heart: A heart that is your own
The heart of satan: This is a heart that is influenced by satan
The heart of God: This is a heart that is under the influence of God
To live is to live making your heart with the word of God. The word of God recreate our heart for good “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--His good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2
Transformation
Read the word. Listen to the word. It is fire that melts the dross on our hearts. When you obey the world of God and carry it in action, not only does the dross on our heart melts but it is removed and TRANSFORMATION begin and one almost becomes a new person. There cannot be transformation until one obey the word of God.
Jesus is the Role Model. The heart of people can change no matter how dull. It is to work at it, to starve to become like Jesus by doing what He did. By renouncing sin and shunning all evil. A person’s heart changes. This is our great hope, that even someone with a wicked heart can change for better, but it is also a warning to all, that even good people can corrupt because we live in a fallen corrupted world, where it is easy to sin than to follow the narrow path.
