The Most Powerful Prayer!
By Abba's Smile (One of the 12 Prayer Warriors) The Lord has revealed to me the most powerful prayer one can pray! I found this one prayer to be a prayer of Salvation, a prayer of forgiveness, a prayer of deliverance and overcoming the devil; fulfilling God’s will in our lives, therefore causing heaven’s plan to be executed on earth and bringing forth His kingdom on Earth! This prayer is none other than... The Lord's Prayer! "This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in Heaven, Hallowed be your name ( Holy is your name), 10 Your Kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us today our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And lead us not in to temptation , but deliver us from the evil one." Mathew 6: 9-13.
I believe the Lord has been showing me how powerful this prayer is. It is definitely a prayer to help every believer live an overcoming life, and successfully fulfill their destiny. When God sends us on earth, he sends each one of us with a destiny and it is His desire for each one of us to accomplish His will for our lives. We have to be aware that the devil will do all he can to prevent us to fulfill God’s calling for our lives. It is in this matter that Jesus taught us how to pray effectively so that we can get to the finish line and finish strong!
If you look deep in this prayer, you can see how it is a very powerful weapon for us believers to help us overcome obstacles that arises in our journey of faith. With that said, let me take you through the prayer and share with you what the Lord revealed to me about it.
Our Father in Heaven, Hollowed be your name!
The Prayer itself isn’t in chronological order. When you look at it, you see that it starts by us acknowledging our Heavenly Father, which is a great way to start. I don’t think it will be a polite way to go visit someone and before we even say hi, we begin by telling them our problems, asking this and that. You see we start by acknowledging God the Father who is heaven. If you notice, the prayer is acknowledging that we are before a Holy God. ( Holy is your name). Because it is when we realize that we are standing before a Holy God that we see how dirty we are. You can see this also in Isaiah 6: 1-5. Verse 1 Shows us that I Isaiah Saw The Lord, high and exalted , seated on the throne, and the train of His robe filled the temple. Then verse 2-4 he start describing what was happening around the throne. In verse 3 The Seraphim were calling to one another praising God saying: ‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty..." ... And as they keep proclaiming His holiness, then Isaiah realizes how unholy he is. In verse 5 he said “ Woe to me! I cried.’’ I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips and I live among a people of unclean lips”. Salvation and Forgiveness ( Forgive us our debts as we also have forgiven our debtors)
When we come to God and realizes how holy He is, It is then that we can see our uncleanliness. This is when we fall on our knees and cry out in repentance asking him to forgive our sins. This is SALVATION! We notice when we ask him to forgive us, there is a condition. He asks us to forgive those who sinned against us. Because of the importance of this, Jesus elaborated more on this in verses 14-15. 14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Heavenly Father will not forgive your sins.
Deliver us from the evil one! ( Deliverance)
After we come to the Lord through salvation , it is important to go through deliverance. Those bad habits influenced by darkness in our past don’t just go away immediately. Sometimes we encounter people who have received the Lord as their Lord and savior, but we notice that they are still struggling with their past addictions such as smoking, drinking, anger and so on. It is because those spirits that came in in the past as they committed those sins have not left and they need to be kicked out in Jesus name! This is why it’s very important as a believer, once the darkness have been kicked out of our lives ( gone through deliverance) to read the word Of God and apply it, because The word of God is truth and it is the truth that sets us free.
And lead us not into temptation! ( Resisting the devil or overcoming the devil)
In order for a believer to overcome the traps that the devil sets on their way , for them to successfully fur-fill the calling God has on their lives, it is a must to resist the devil. That is why it’s very important to read the word of God and put it in action in our lives. Because if we do not know what the word of God say about this struggle, that problem, such temptation and so forth, we will not be able to resist the devil. We resist him by refusing what he is enticing us to do and instead we apply the word of God even if it doesn’t make sense! In order for us to keep our freedom we received through Jesus Christ as he gave us deliverance, it is very important to keep the word of God no matter what!
Give us today our daily bread, Your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven
As we embark on this journey of faith, we are to be guided in accordance to his perfect will in situations we face daily. We are to seek his will in the decisions we make, in whichever direction we want to take. For it is when we seek His will in those situation and do accordingly, that heaven’s plan will be executed in every situation. On earth as it is in heaven, hallelujah ! Because you see, there is a book written about each one of us in heaven. Psalm 139:16 says - Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. Everything about our lives is already written in His book. All the provisions (our daily bread), everything we need to fulfill our destiny, they are all there. We just have to seek God and find out what is in our our book daily and move accordingly. The prayer we have for ourselves and those we pray for, they will be effective if we are praying to bring or receive answers that are in accordance to God’s perfect will.
Your kingdom come
The time we are in, is a time when the kingdom of God is getting closer and closer on earth. When the kingdom of God is operating on earth, His glory and unlimited power will manifest mightily! ( Yours is the power, and the glory, and dominion, forever and ever, Amen!) We are created to rule and reign with Him! Therefore it is important to prepare and get ready to take that scepter and rule alongside our Kings of Kings! Jesus Christ! We can not afford to remain in struggling conditions spiritually after we come to know Him! We are over-comers! Greater is Jesus in us than the devil in this world! We can do all things through Christ who gives us strength! He has given us a tool! He taught us how to pray. As we pray like this: Our Father who are in heaven, Holy is your name! Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespasses against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Let us put this prayer in action and surely we will be moving in the power of the age to come. Amen!
